BikeComputer

A home project that records rides on an exercise bike and stores each ride as a workout in the rider's own Google Health account.

How it works

  1. A small device on the bike measures cadence, speed, distance and riding time.
  2. When a ride ends, a summary of it is sent to a server in our home.
  3. That server creates a workout with the summary in the Google Health account of the person who rode.

Who can use it

BikeComputer is a private project used only within our household. It is not a public service: riders are added by the administrator, and each rider connects their own Google account themselves.

Google account access

BikeComputer only asks for permission to create workouts in Google Health and to read back the workouts it created. It does not read other health data. You can remove its access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
